has been working freelance as a theatre producer since 1996 in cooperation with prestigious festivals and venues like Kampnagel Hamburg, National Theatre Freiburg, National Theatre Zürich, Sophiensaele Berlin and others. She has, for example, produced works by popular young directors such as Nicolas Stemann, Sandra Strunz, Falk Richter and Nora Somaini. Since 2000 she has been working regularly with Christiane Pohle, for example for “Three Sisters / Sitting in Hamburg”, “Summer Guests” by Maxim Gorky , the “Idea of the Abolition of Darkness”, based on the novel by Peter Hoeg and in 2005 “Betrachte meine Seel’/Eine Überführung”, a theatre evening developed by Christiane Pohle with musique of Johann Sebastian Bach and text fragments of Paul Valéry, Richard Buckminster-Fuller, Antonio Sant`Elia, Theodore J. Kszynski a. o.

In association with the Sophiensaele in Berlin, she initiated and coordinated the festival – "Ausser Atem" (Breathless) - a presentation platform for young theatre directors. Kampnagel Hamburg, Forum Freies Theater Düsseldorf and Theaterhaus Gessnerallee Zürich took over the idea and the concept of “Ausser Atem” and continue the platform under the name “Freischwimmer”.

With Angela Richter, an upcoming young director she worked together on “Magic Afternoon”, a modern theatre play by the Austrian writer Wolfgang Bauer.

In 2006 the working relation will continue with the production “Bruder/Schwester” based on the film “Love streams” by John Cassavetes.

In September 2006 she will produce “Ausser Atem”, a theatre play by the upcoming young director Sebastian Schug, who will adapt the famous Nouelle Vague film “Breathless”

Andrea Tietz is currently preparing a Europe-wide theatre project for 6 directors, 6 countries and 6 European stories in cooperation with the Deutsche Schauspielhaus Hamburg (the Hamburg State Theatre).
